Marc Williams is a graduate of the College of Charleston and the University of South Carolina School of Law. As an attorney, Mr. Williams’s early career included acting as General Counsel to several businesses primarily in the capacity of transaction and contract negotiation and management as well as acquisition and divestiture of corporate assets or divisions. Mr. Williams has owned several businesses, acquired several businesses, raised venture capital for business start ups, and had leading roles in debt financing and capital funding for various business sizes. It was this business acquisition and divestiture experience that led Mr. Williams to business brokerage and the acquisition of Charleston Business Brokers. Mr. Williams takes pride in the professional practices of Charleston Business Brokers and is committed to providing the highest level of ethical business brokerage services to his clients.

Wendy Williams is a graduate of the College of Charleston and holds a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of South Carolina. Ms. Williams is a seasoned business manager with extensive corporate human resources training and experience. As an operating partner in Charleston Business Brokers, Ms. Williams provides the organization with a structured organizational environment for the benefit of Charleston Business Broker’s clients. Ms. Williams takes pride in the ethical organizational practices of Charleston Business Brokers and is committed to providing ongoing professional training to our brokers and associates.

Daniel Messervy, Managing Broker BS, Clemson University, Clemson, SC
Daniel Messervy is a Charleston native. After graduating #1 in his class from Wando High School, Mr. Messervy attended the Honors College at Clemson University and earned a degree in Chemical Engineering. Born into a family of entrepreneurs, Mr. Messervy immediately sought to open his own business and achieved that goal several years ago at the age of 23 when he built his first car wash; taking a vacant lot and designing, permitting and constructing a very successful full-service car wash. Within 3 years, he renovated a car dealership into a second location and 2 years later contracted with Charleston Business Brokers to sell both car washes. After a, successful sales process, Mr. Messervy joined Charleston Business Brokers. Mr. Messervy’s entrepreneurial experiences, small business operations and management experience and first-hand contract negotiation, due diligence and closing process experience quickly propelled Mr. Messervy to a leadership position at Charleston Business Brokers.

Tom Sweeny, Senior Business Intermediary BA, Knox College, Galesburg, IL MMA, University of Rhode Island, Kingston, RI
Tom Sweeny is a graduate of Knox College and holds a Master’s Degree in Marine Affairs from the University of Rhode Island. Mr. Sweeny’s early career included Merchant Navy Officer Training in the UK and five years as a Professor at Clemson University. Mr. Sweeny has extensive experience in business consulting engagements and practices as well as financial planning tools and strategies. Mr. Sweeny is experienced in a wide range of businesses and acts as Charleston Business Brokers health care and senior business enterprises businesses manager. Mr. Sweeny serves on several Boards of Directors including the Lt. Governor’s SC Advisory Council on Aging, Rotary Club of Charleston, Lowcountry Senior Network, and the Disability Resource Center. In addition, Mr. Sweeny founded the Family Owned Business Initiative at the College of Charleston that is now continued through the joint efforts of Charleston Business Brokers and Tidelands Bank.

Ray Schipani is a graduate of Villanova University and holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from George Washington University. Mr. Schipani has over 30 years of experience in small business development, management and planning. Mr. Schipani has held Senior Level management positions with companies in various industries including high technology (commercial and military), business services and manufacturing. Mr. Schipani’s leadership, as CEO and owner, of an acquired Midwestern manufacturing company quadrupled revenues and profits and the company was named Minnesota Manufacturing Company of the Year. In addition, Mr. Schipani has been awarded eight product patents and holds leadership positions in numerous civic and area business organizations.

Dan Mahoney serves as Charleston Business Advisors Mergers & Acquisitions Manager. After a career of participating in over 40 merger and acquisition projects throughout his career and acting as CEO of numerous privately-held and publically traded companies, Mr. Mahoney serves on several Boards of Directors of US companies with a particular focus on distribution companies. Mr. Mahoney is experienced in complex and sophisticated business environments with a successful record of strengthening enterprise equity value, reducing operating costs, and improving bottom-line profitability in acquisition, industry roll-up, turnaround and leveraged business environments. Mr. Mahoney is a seasoned, senior level executive with over 30 years of experience and success in top-line growth, bottom-line profitability and strengthening enterprise equity value, for private, publically traded and equity group owned companies in a myriad of industries.

Mr. Brown graduated from Chaminade University in Honolulu, Hawaii while stationed on active duty with the United States Air Force and received his law degree from the Cooley School of Law in Lansing Michigan. Mr. Brown has practice law since 1990 and acts as legal counsel to Charleston Business Brokers in addition to providing management support and services.
